The industry officially uses ECT and not too many people know what that means. Often “Therapy” and “Treatment” are interchanged. I believe it would be best to use the term ECT because that is what the industry uses, but use the full name “Electroconvulsive Treatment” as often as possible. This is so that it become so common that “Electroconvulsive Therapy” is never used by the general public.
